August 4 - To Stream Or Not To Stream?
Theatre Network of Texas, Inc. (TNT) presents another Texas Theatre Town Hall – to help navigate through this pandemic.
Theatres across the state are ready to open but are finding that even with safety measures – they aren’t too sure they are truly ready to open. TNT found several theatres across the state that have streamed a performance with success. At this Town Hall we heard from Craig Boleman with SoloShoe Communications who helped TNT member theatre – MainStage Irving-Las Colinas in Irving stream their production of AN ACT OF GOD. We also had Amy Goodyear with Playhouse 2000 in Kerrville who streamed their production of KING LEAR from the beautiful Cailloux Theatre. Also at this Town Hall we had Sean Foushee with Tickets To The City (TTTC) – Texas Theatre Town Halls sponsor – who talked about how your theatre can stream using TTTC’s new streaming hosting option.
This is a great Town Hall if you are not sure when you might be ready to open up your space.

July 16 - The Show Goes On... Outside
Theatre Network of Texas, Inc. (TNT) presents another Texas Theatre Town Hall – The Show Goes On – Outside. A discussion with several theatres across the state who are taking their shows – outside. With more research showing concern over confined spaces in regards to COVID-19 – several theatres in Texas are taking their shows outside.
We have The Point Theatre in Ingram who has an outdoor venue and is presenting shows over the summer. The theatre has 2 spaces – one outdoor theatre and one smaller indoor intimate theatre. Executive Director Sarah Derousseau talked about how they are changing their summer plans and presenting all their shows outside.
The Classics Theatre Project in Dallas doesn’t have a permanent home but has received approval to present James McLure’s LONE STAR outside of the Margo Jones Theatre on the grounds of the Texas State Fair. Artistic Director Joey Folsom talked about how the company made the decision to select the show AND to present outside.
Jason Leyva with the Fort Worth Community Arts Center talked about how they chose to do Edward Albee’s ZOO STORY in the venue’s courtyard. He will also talk about how they planned on ensuring everyones safety.
Even with the Texas Governor’s recent proclamation restricting outside gatherings of 10 or more – TNT wants to pass along to you how you may be able to present in the near future.

May 12 - "How Do I Ask for MORE Money."
The Town Hall Topic this week – Donor Relations during a Pandemic or ‘How Do I Ask for MORE Money’. We know everyone is dealing with having to raise money – how do you do this during a crisis? Do you go back to the initial donors that helped you stay open in April? How do you raise more money when you’re not producing. A panel of Development professionals will discuss what companies are doing in Texas and will give real world examples of what you need to be doing TODAY to retain your donors for the future.

April 29 - "How Do We Stay Alive During A Pandemic"
The most popular question TNT staff is answering right now is – “what are other theatres doing to prepare to open.” Theatres are past the “how do we stay alive during the pandemic” to “how do we safely gather our audience to do what we do best – Live Theatre?”
In an effort to help answer this question, TNT gathered theatre leaders from different sized member theatres across the state, to talk about what their theatres are doing and what YOU might consider doing once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Leaders on the virtual panel included organizations with varying differences including staff/no staff, union/non union, city building/own building and theatres with seating capacity ranging from 50 to over 500. The companies discussed what they are doing TODAY to prep – knowing that new information can change the best laid plans in an instant. We will also attempt to address national precautions and trends.
