The Texas Nonprofit Theatres, Inc. Annual Conference is a yearly three day gathering of theatre professionals and practitioners alike that features workshops, roundtables, our annual Quad and Membership meetings, performances, social events, an awards ceremony and more.

TNT is excited to announce that KIDS WHO CARE, from Fort Worth, will be attending the conference and performing for registrants. KIDS WHO CARE has a unique Leadership system for their students – KidPower Leadership. This includes 40-75 hours of Leadership Training, 140-275 hours of hands on leadership experience serving kids throughout the summer. They will be presenting their touring show AND leading workshops and roundtable to help grow YOUR youth programming. This includes “Ask the Teen” roundtable where you can ask the students your questions about their experience. Having KIDS WHO CARE at conference is a great way for you to learn more about how youth programming can help your theatre.

Workshops – There will be a variety of workshops at the 2020 Annual Conference, including one led by Kids Who Care founder Deborah Jung on their KidPower Leadership method. Others include a TCA Grant workshop, budget discussion, and prop creation.

Workshops

Adjudication Workshop – Kathy Pingel will be leading a 3 day Adjudication Training workshop. Kathy wrote the guidelines used by American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) adjudicators. Adjudicators will listen to Kathy Adjudicate the presented 20 minute vignettes and then adjudicate the shows themselves in the workshop. This training is an intensive geared toward attendees being certified to adjudicate using AACTFest rules. This is a more compact version of the training taught at the national AACTFest every 2 years. 

Adjudication Training

20 Minute Vignettes – This was a hit in 2018 in Deer Park – we are bringing it back! Theatre companies from across the state bring 20 minute vignettes to try out a show they may want to bring to QUADFest / TEXFest. These will not have set, costumes, props or lighting all that will be provided and used are 2 chairs and a table. If you are interested in submitting your vignette – please fill out the form below.

Competitions – The following competitions will be held at the Annual Conference:

Design Competition
Monologue Competition

Quad meetings – The time when you and others from your local theatre community get to chat with your Quad Liaison and plan activities.

 

Annual meeting – TNT’s yearly membership meeting – including discussion about the state of the company, presentation of Focus on 50 pins, and State Recognition awards.
