Greg Holleman, Deer Park, TX
It is with great pride and enthusiasm that we nominate Greg Holleman for the Theatre Network of Texas Annual Star Award in recognition of his invaluable contributions to the Art Park Players over the past 12 years. As a professional photographer, Greg approached us with a generous offer to photograph his daughter’s productions. What began as a simple gesture quickly blossomed into a significant, ongoing volunteer service. Greg not only captured beautiful images of our performances, but he also took it upon himself to edit and post those photos to our Facebook pages, helping to elevate our presence online.
Since that time, Greg has become an essential part of our theatre family. Spotlight Award
Georgina Palencia, Houston, TX
Georgina Palencia is a prominent Hispanic artist in Houston whose work in the performing arts fosters reflection on human rights and strengthens interculturality in the U.S. As an actress, educator, and theater director, she built a career spanning 30 years in both Latin America and Houston, actively highlighting the richness of Hispanic contributions to the cultural landscape. With a degree in Social Communication specializing in audiovisual media, a master’s in Linguistics and Language Teaching, and a doctorate in Managerial Sciences with a focus on Cultural and Academic Management, she has achieved significant milestones. In Venezuela, she excelled as a researcher in public speaking and body-vocal expression, training generations of performing artists at the University of Zulia, where she served as Director of Culture for seven years. She also chaired the National Culture Commission of Venezuelan Universities, demonstrating her commitment to academic and social cultural management. She moved to Houston in 2017, and has played a vital role in advancing Spanish-language theater here. She founded Teatro Loft, a nonprofit theater organization she directs, which has become a cornerstone for the Hispanic community in Houston. Her first production during this period was “”La lechuga,”” a play addressing disabilities and social interaction, marking the start of her socially-conscious art. Under her leadership, Teatro Loft has developed workshops on acting, voice, diction, stagecraft, and interpretation. She has also forged partnerships with the local arts community to implement educational initiatives such as panel discussions, seminars, and dramaturgical analysis, promoting gender rights and inclusion through art and culture. Key partnerships include the Colibrí Foundation, Alianza Schools, Spanish Perfecto School, and Rice University. Throughout her teaching career, she has educated thousands of students in arts, literature, and language, while leaving a lasting impact on audiences. Below is a list of productions, workshops, and events she has led in Houston over the past two years:

She has a fantastic work ethic that allows her to expand the influence of Teatro Loft, overseeing professionalization programs in the performing arts and solidifying socially relevant, high-quality Spanish-language theater as a cultural pillar in Houston. This, among other reasons, is why I strongly believe in her candidacy for this award.”
Ken Harris, Kerrville, TX
Ken Harris is a long-time board member, supporter, and friend of Playhouse 2000. He is our most active board member by miles and his contributions simply cannot be measured. Ken doesn’t just take every opportunity to promote and support us, he creates opportunities. Over the years, Ken has lent his artistic skills to prop-making and scenic painting, attended each and every production, and taken extraordinary initiative to raise funds for Playhouse 2000. In 2024, Ken raised and contributed funds for exterior renovations at both our main stage (Cailloux Theater) and black box (VK Garage Theater) venues, personally facilitating every detail of each project with the utmost care. Just one month into 2025, he has done the same for the VK Garage lobby! Ken has sourced and is personally rebuilding a gorgeous bar, thoughtfully taking the time to meet with our fabulous partners, Omakase Hospitality, to ensure they have everything they need to serve our patrons to the fullest. As if that wasn’t enough, Ken is also taking on the much needed remodel of the restrooms in the Cailloux Theater! Ken has earned this recognition and more through his remarkable efforts to continuously improve our facilities and production value. No one nurtures theater in the Texas Hill Country quite like Ken Harris.

His tireless work behind the scenes has helped ensure the smooth operation of the event and the positive experience of the attendees.
In addition to his hands-on support, Kenny has played a crucial role in securing funding for the City of Deer Park to host the Youth Conference for the past two years. His efforts in requesting and coordinating financial support have resulted in over $40,000 in funding, allowing the conference to continue to thrive and serve the community. This achievement highlights Kenny’s exceptional ability to rally resources and support for the theatre community. Kenny’s contributions extend beyond the Youth Conference. He is a passionate advocate for Deer Park’s Community Theatre and a strong supporter of other community theatres across the state of Texas. His dedication to fostering local theatre culture and his genuine care for the people involved make him a pillar of the Texas theatre community. Terry Lynn Hale, Weatherford, TX
It is with great enthusiasm that I nominate Terry Lynn Hale for the Front of House Award in recognition of over 40 years of extraordinary dedication, tireless commitment, and unwavering passion for The Players Theatre Company. A true pillar of our community theatre, Terry Lynn has played a crucial role in ensuring our continued success both on and off stage. A relentless advocate for audience engagement, Terry Lynn has single-handedly championed our season ticket sales, personally promoting them during curtain speeches, sitting in the lobby at intermission to connect with patrons, and reaching out to past subscribers to encourage their continued support. Thanks to her efforts, countless audience members have become loyal season ticket holders, sustaining our theatre for generations. Art Park Players/City of Deer Park, Deer Park, TX
Art Park Players and the City of Deer Park have been supporters of Theatre Network of Texas, Inc. (TNT) for many years. in 2022 both entities stepped up to volunteer and host the TNT Youth Conference for 2 years – 2023 and 2024. Both organizations worked together to ensure the 27th and 28th annual TNT Youth Conferences were exceptional, memorable and certainly educational. The support provided by both of these organizations was vital in the success of both Youth Conferences.
Onstage Award
Naomi Klinge, Deer Park, TX
It is a true joy to nominate Naomi Klinge for the Theatre Network of Texas Onstage Award. Naomi is a truly treasured and versatile actress whose commitment to her craft and her theatre family is unmatched.
During our recent summer production of The Sound of Music, Naomi demonstrated her exceptional talent and boundless generosity in an unforgettable way. When the actress playing the Baroness became seriously ill, Naomi selflessly volunteered to step into the role while still maintaining her performance as Sister Sophia, one of the Lead Nuns. This required Naomi to perform multiple costume changes in the middle of the show, seamlessly transitioning between two very distinct characters. And, she only had 1 hour and 30 minutes to prepare. Not only did Naomi manage both roles with grace, but she did so masterfully, delivering a performance that was both captivating and full of heart. The audience was eventually in awe when they realized she had been playing both roles, and her dedication was met with thunderous applause during the curtain call. Naomi is the epitome of a dedicated actress. She is always willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that a show goes on, and her talent and professionalism shine through in every performance. Beyond her incredible skill, Naomi is a true joy to work with—her positivity, collaborative spirit, and unwavering support for her fellow cast and crew make her an invaluable part of our theatre community. For her outstanding contributions, her unmatched dedication, and her ability to rise to every challenge with brilliance and grace, Naomi Klinge is more than deserving of the Theatre Network of Texas Onstage Award.
Jaclyn Justice, Weatherford, TX
Jaclyn Justice has been involved in our theatre in some capacity since it’s inception, but this last season she had a particularly astounding performance as Sally Bowles in our production of Cabaret. Ms. Justice brought her experience as a Jewish woman to this self described dream role for her. Each night she performed our audiences were moved by the naivety, hope, pain, and tragedy of her character portrayal. Personally, as a member of the twch team backstage I witnessed Ms. Justice pour her soul into the character and leave it on stage for the audience to take in. The role was not easy to move play emotionally, but Ms. Justice was determined to make sure she gave everything to the role.

Corporate Arts Award
Casa Ole’ – Corkey and Debbie Turner, Deer Park, TX
I am writing to enthusiastically nominate Corkey and Debbie Turner of Casa Ole’ for the Theatre Network of Texas’ Annual Corporate Arts Award. Their outstanding support and dedication to the arts in our community, particularly to our organization, Art Park Players, make them deserving of this esteemed recognition. Casa Ole’ has been a beloved fixture in the Deer Park and Pasadena area for over 40 years. Corkey and Debbie have built their restaurant into a successful and iconic local business, and through their success, they have remained steadfast in their belief that giving back to the community is essential. Their deep commitment to supporting local organizations and causes is truly commendable, and they have continually shown up for the arts in remarkable ways. Over the years, Casa Ole’ has provided generous financial contributions to support our annual scholarship and internship fundraiser, Puttin’ on the Ritz. Their donations have been crucial in helping us provide opportunities for young people interested in pursuing careers in theatre. But what sets Corkey and Debbie apart is their genuine passion for the arts, which led them to take their support even further. After making multiple contributions, they attended one of our fundraisers and were so moved by the event that they chose to become Deluxe Corporate Patrons—the highest level of support we offer. Their commitment to our theatre has not wavered, and they have regularly reached out to us to ask how they can assist in even more meaningful ways. In addition to their financial contributions, Corkey and Debbie have gone above and beyond in their support by donating food for events, cast parties, and volunteer workdays. Their kindness and generosity are always on display, and we have been fortunate to benefit from their leadership. Perhaps one of the most significant examples of their dedication came when we found ourselves in need of a new caterer for our Dinner Theatre. Corkey and Debbie went out of their way to assist us by organizing a special meeting to help us connect with caterers we hadn’t yet discovered. They provided invaluable advice and even helped us craft a more professional catering request. Their unwavering willingness to lend a hand, offer guidance, and share their expertise made a world of difference in our planning process. What I admire most about Corkey and Debbie Turner is their sincerity and their deep commitment to the organizations and people they believe in. They do not simply make donations—they are fully invested in the success and well-being of the communities they serve. Art Park Players is fortunate to be on their radar, and we are not the only organization they assist. Their influence and generosity extend far beyond the walls of Casa Ole’, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do. Corkey and Debbie Turner embody the spirit of corporate philanthropy at its finest, and I can think of no better candidates for the Theatre Network of Texas’ Annual Corporate Arts Award. Their support has had an immeasurable impact on our organization, and we are proud to nominate them for this well-deserved recognition.
Theatre Victoria/City of Victoria, Victoria, TX
In 2019 the Theatre Network of Texas, Inc. (TNT) Board of Governors made the decision to have an annual TEXFest and to attempt to have a theatre host the event 2 years in a row. Because of the pandemic, in 2020, the TEXFest cycle was slightly misaligned. In 2022 Theatre Victoria offered up their space and their city to host TEXFest for 3 years – 2023, 2024 & 2025. This is no small undertaking since it required coordination with City of Victoria, Victoria College and TNT. Every year they have gone above and beyond to host TEXFest and show off the beauty of their venue, their city and their hospitality. The Theatre Victoria staff, board and volunteers have stepped up repeatedly every year to ensure attendees have an excellent experience in Victoria.
